The first step in using coupons is to get them. Here is a list of some ways to get coupons.
1.Sunday Newspaper:The Sunday newspaper is the easiest and most popular way to get coupons. Contact your area and see what local newspapers are available. Home delivery will give you the best prices and most of the time incentives for buying delivery. Check the early editions on the weekend (Friday + Saturday) for cheaper prices. Go to the dollar store and see if they have a Sunday paper.
- Printable Coupons:There are many sites where you can print off coupons. Check our website, www.crazyforcouponing.com under the coupons tab and look at all the different websites that offer regular printable coupons. Also, check manufacturer websites, facebook pages, etc. to find exclusive printable coupons. Most sites are limited to 2 prints per device. You can download apps from your smartphone from Coupons.com and Grocery IQ under your gaming store to print coupons.
- Email the manufacturer; You can email any manufacturer and ask to put them on their coupons, promotions and mailing lists. Tell them you love their products and use them all the time. Praise them. Or if you’re not meeting your standards with their products, let them know.
The way manufacturers know if they are meeting or exceeding consumer expectations is when consumers give their feedback. Don’t come right out and ask for a coupon. Go to any manufacturer’s website and give them a short message. Go here for a master list of companies to write to. https://www.crazyforcouponing.com/companies-to-write.
- Trading and buying inserts and coupons:There are many ways to get inserts and coupons. There are clipping services. The clipping service I recommend is our wonderful vendor, Kristi Phillips. There are trading groups on social media, we have a group called Crazy Trading Coupons, and there are vendors that sell inserts. Some would say it is illegal to trade coupons, but there is no such law. The coupon states that if it is sold or transferred, the contract is void. It could be argued that it is illegal to cancel the contract. However, this is another way to get coupons.
- works; Blinkies are coupons that are located in stores and spit out coupons. They are usually hard to find coupons for and are usually high value.
Even if you don’t plan on using it now, grab a pair, “a pair” haha. You can use them later.
- Peels; Peelies are coupons on products in the store.
Some stores won’t allow you to use peels unless they take them off themselves. You will find great peels on products, keep your eyes open.
- tear pads; Tear pads are coupons that are hanging off of tear pads in stores just like it sounds. These are everywhere in the store so keep your eyes open.
- store apps; check store websites and store apps. In addition to printable coupons, they will offer special “clip to card” coupons. Be sure to check if the coupon is from the store or the manufacturer before you try to stack them.
- Shopping at retail stores? There are many apps that post retail coupons that can be used in stores or online. My favorite is Retail Me Not. You may know the name because the RedPlum inserts are now called Retail Me Not. Now, does this mean your RedPlum coupons can be digitized? Time will tell. Go here to download Retail Me Not.
- get creative; Do your neighbors, family, co-workers, etc. buy the Sunday paper but don’t use the coupons? Get them to give you their coupons. Look for local groups in your area who get together and exchange coupons. Take a walk around the neighborhood on scrap night and see who’s throwing away their coupons, it’s win-win, you get exercise, you meet neighbors, and you get your coupons. Score.
I hope this helps you become an amazing couponer. Got questions? Ask them. Know how to get coupons? Share them. Want to share this awesome information with your friends? Share this post so they can learn too.
